The Hero: Alamo Drafthouse

So this news broke out on the web about a week or two ago about this female who attended a movie at the Alamo Drafthouse and was kicked out for texting during a film. Like all movie theaters, the Alamo Drafthouse has a policy where attendees are not allowed to talk or text on the phone during a film. Not only is it rude, but it’s a major distraction when you’re trying to watch a movie that you paid for. Well, I just want to APPLAUD the Drafthouse for actually enforcing these rules, unlike AMC and every other movie theater chains in the nation that gives a warning but never actually does anything about it.

This female customer apparently was texting during a film and after one or two warnings, got kicked out of the theater without a refund. She was so irate, she left a voice-mail on the Drafthouse’s phone line, which is now the PSA that plays before any R-rated film at the Drafthouse. Check out the uncensored version here:

All I have to say is that I desperately want an Alamo Drafthouse Cinema near me. Too many times have I been distracted during a film to the point that it ruined my experience and focus on the movie that I paid for. At the Drafthouse, that wouldn’t be a concern. Please build some Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas in the Northeast!
