The family films, G-Force and Harry Potter, continued to excel this summer and rounding out the Top 5 was Judd Apatow’s Funny People.
As for our predictions, kudos to Sheehan for nailing G.I. Joe’s gross on the dot at $56 million. Because of that, he managed to outguess my and Phil’s predictions, even though my gross estimates were more accurate.
Check back on Friday for our new predictions when a slew of films hit the theaters: The teen-band comedy, Bandslam starring Vanessa Hudgens in a non-High School Musical role; the R-rated comedy The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard starring Jeremy Piven; the fantasty/romance flick based on the best selling novel of the same title, The Time Traveler’s Wife starring Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana; and the highly anticipated sci-fi thriller, District 9. It’s going to be a good weekend.
