How would you like to boogie, ride rollercoasters, and eat some birthday cake with teen pop star Miley Cyrus? Or maybe you would be partying with Hannah Montana? They’re the same person right? Anyway, Disney’s at it again with their tween idol in another scheme to boost her fame and fortune. What’s it this time? Well, apparently Miley Cyrus is turning 16 and she’s inviting 5,000 fans (at $250 a ticket) to party along with her at Disneyland. I don’t even know what to say about this. This’ll surely spark some more stubhub controversies and then result in crying girls begging their parents to dive deep into their pockets and dish out a month of their salary just so their little princess can celebrate Cyrus’ birthday. Ridiculous.

As The Dark Knight was finally bumped off of the top spot in the box office last weekend, it’s finally time for the new releases to make some money. This week there are three notable films coming out: The House Bunny, Death Race, and The Rocker. Although this is an incredibly weak display of films, it is the end of the summer season so there’s no surprise. Nonetheless, these films will surely make a splash in the Top 5.
Here are my predictions, along with my friends Dan and Phil:
My Predictions:
1. Tropic Thunder – $16 m
2. The House Bunny – $13 m
3. The Dark Knight – $12 m
4. Death Race – $9 m
5. The Rocker – $8 m
Dan’s Predictions:
1. Tropic Thunder – $15 m
2. Death Race – $15 m
3. The Dark Knight – $10 m
